Brie Larson’s Stylist Opens Up About Her Shoe Closet

Cristina Ehrlich is responsible for the red carpet looks behind Brie Larson, Allison Williams and Margot Robbie. Here she reveals to FN the shoes that star in her personal collection.

Favorite Label: “It would have to be Roger Vivier. I love wearing their heels, their tennis shoes, their ankle boots, their ballet flats. No matter how many shoes go in and out of my closet, there is not really a week that goes by where I’m not wearing Roger Vivier.”

Shoe Designer Of The Moment: “I’m a huge fan of Tabitha Simmons. Her shoes are incredible, and her style really represents her sensibility. What she’s
doing is really different and modern. She has a fun way of putting a playful twist on designs.”

Brand Obsessions: “A big brand I have a love affair with is Paul Andrew. And one of my [latest] discoveries is Derek Lam. He is absolutely making gorgeous shoes and very interesting designs. We’ve also been working quite a bit with Kurt Geiger and Gianvito Rossi.”

Celebrity Client’s Closet I’d Raid: “Penélope Cruz’s. She is my longest-standing client and has a wide range of shoes with a rock ’n’ roll side. Her shoe closet is impressive.”

First Designer Purchase: “The most luxurious and expensive boots I bought 20 years ago were classic ankle motorcycle boots by Ann Demeulemeester. Those boots have always been a staple.”

Last Pair Purchased: “Pierre Hardy. I bought a pointy-toe style in Paris. I use his brand for the red-carpet [events] as well.”

Go-to Sneakers: “I’m loving my one pair from Roger Vivier. They are a slip-on with an [oversized] buckle.”

Biggest Splurge: “It would probably be my Chloe boots with the grommets. I saw them in French Vogue when they first came out, and everybody wanted them.”

Most Quirky Look: “I have some really unusual-looking shoes from Haider Ackermann. He’s done some cool shoes over the years.”

Pairs I’ll Never Part With: “Probably my Ann Demeulemeester boots or Pierre Hardy boots. I also have a couple of really beat-up pairs of classic Manolo Blahnik pumps. They are staples that I keep.”

Most Comfortable Look: “For me, it’s all about the flat black boot. That encompasses about 80 percent of my life.”

Shoes I Always Pack: “My dear friend and colleague Mariela Montiel is incredibly talented and makes some of the most comfortable loafers I’ve ever worn in my life. So I always travel with my Mariela Montiel flats. I can’t live without them. I’ve always been a Gucci loafer girl, too.”
