“When a girl loves her shoes, she always makes them fit.”
These are the words of Celine Dion, and she definitely loves her shoes. The singer recently revealed her dedication to wearing whatever shoe she desires, even if it’s not available in her exact size.
In the new Prime Video documentary “I Am: Celine Dion,” which hit the streamer on June 25, the superstar vocalist explained her unyielding passion for shoes amidst the larger story exploring her life as an artist and her experience with the disorder known as Stiff Person Syndrome. Dion first publicly shared that she was diagnosed with the autoimmune and neurological disorder in 2022; she has since revealed more about how the illness has impacted her life and career in the documentary.
In a scene where she’s surrounded by items in storage, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer said that she can make any shoe between the sizes of six and ten fit. Dion, who owns thousands of pairs of shoes, wasn’t afraid to detail how this open-mindedness can be physically demanding on her feet.

“I have worn shoes, my friend, my toes were like this” — she motioned with her hands to indicate her toes being curled up — “because they didn’t have my size.”
She continued, “Every time I went to a store and I love those shoes, they say ‘What size are you, ma’am?’ I say, ‘No, you don’t understand — What size do you have? I’ll make them work, I’ll make them fit.’ I will walk the shoe. I walk the shoe, the shoe don’t walk me.”
She went on to explain that while she’s had to bend her toes for smaller shoes, she has to spread out her toes for larger shoes “to hold onto them” — but this is a sacrifice she’s willing to make. “From six to ten, give it to me, I love them,” she said.
Dion’s shoe collection is indeed expansive, ranging from white Converse to shiny stilettos to snakeskin above-the-knee boots. Stepping out to promote the documentary, she wore a pair of Gianvito Rossi suede heeled sandals in New York on June 18. Dion even has a storage and computer system to organize her shoes.
