The 2023 CFDA Awards took place on Monday in New York and boasted a guest list full of stars, including La La Anthony, Teyana Taylor, Mary J. Blige, J Balvin, Kim Kardashian, Serena Willaims, Ariana DeBose, Emily Ratajkowski and Gwyneth Paltrow, among others.
The stars brought their shoe A-game, strapping into fashionable sandals for the occasion. Anne Hathaway wore Jimmy Choo, a go-to brand for the actress, while stars like Eva Chen wore Neil J. Rodgers. Here is a list of the standout sandal looks at the CFDA Fashion Awards 2023.
Anne Hathaway
Hathaway, the night’s host, attended the event wearing on-trend metallic silver Jimmy Choo sandal heels and a denim Ralph Lauren gown. The heels in question featured striking open-toed square heels that gave way to high-shine uppers and 3 to 4-inch stiletto heels. Although they were hard to see under the hem of “The Devil Wears Prada” star’s dress, the footwear offered Hathaway’s look an eye-catching finish.
Eva Chen
Director of fashion partnerships at Instagram, Chen attended the CFDA’s in Neil J. Rodgers Stella sandal heels in black. Paired alongside a dramatic Diotima gown, the heels acted as a subdued but impactful player in Chen’s ensemble.

The dressy footwear comprised jet-black uppers and two thin straps that sat over the tops of the social media personality’s feet while similarly thin straps wound around her ankles, threaded through buckle closures. 3 to 4-inch stilettos rounded out the strappy set, offering Chen a boost in height.
Ziwe
Ziwe attended wearing playful asymmetrical black leather sandal heels and a dramatic plunging black gown. One of the comedian’s heels featured a strap that wound around her big toe, separating it from the rest of her digits, while the other shoe was a regular open-toe sandal style.
The sandals’ thick black straps were threaded through rugged buckle closures atop the feet and around the ankles, accompanied by vibrant neon yellow soles.
Demi Moore
The “Ghost” actress kept it simple for this year’s award ceremony, opting for a tried and true pair of black leather sandal heels paired with a silver sequin strapless Carolina Herrera dress. Demi Moore’s footwear was crafted of shiny black patent leather uppers and featured thin straps that sat atop her feet and around her ankles. 2 to 3-inch stilettos finished off the neutral set. The footwear is a classic and neutral choice, acting in direct contrast to her loud and dazzling dress.
Quinta Brunson
Quinta Brunson jumped onto the metallic bandwagon, incorporating a pair of gilded platform sandals into her look. Paired with a fringy cream-colored dress, the “Abbott Elementary” actress’ footwear featured mirrored gold uppers that transitioned into thick and lofty platform soles that provided Brunson with a sky-high boost.
Thin straps wrapped around the producer’s ankles while stiletto heels rounded out the height-boosting set. In contrast to her rather neutral dress, Brunson’s gilded footwear was a dazzling choice, making her stand out on the footwear front during the awards.
The CFDA Awards honor American designers and brands of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. This year, the organization’s annual event will be held in partnership with Amazon Fashion in New York City. Anne Hathaway will serve as host of the star-studded occasion.
