The first night of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia was a star-studded affair.
In addition to Democratic power players Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker, Hollywood stars Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato and Sarah Silverman also spoke at the raucous event. Longoria — a Mexican-American and native of Texas — spoke about her family and how she feels insulted by some remarks made by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump about Mexican immigrants.
For her moment in the spotlight, Longoria opted for a dress from her collection for The Limited and a pair of Gianvito Rossi Portofino nude sandals.
Lovato also gave a moving speech about her battle with bipolar disorder and her push for the government to do more to help those who are suffering from mental illness. She also performed her single “Confident.” For the occasion, Lovato opted for a blush pink embellished dress and tiered fringe sandals with crystal detailing.
