J.K. Rowling’s incredible universe has been brought to life on the big screen for the past 15 years through adaptations of her “Harry Potter” book series, and her latest epic, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” which hit theaters last month.
Now fans of the scribe’s fantasy canon will be able to view the props and costumes featured in the hit films. “From J.K. Rowling’s “Wizarding World: The Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Exhibit” opens to the public on Friday at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, Calif.

The exhibition offers an intimate look at some of the modern head-to-toe wardrobe seen on “Harry Potter” actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, among other cast members, as well as wares from Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell and more stars from 1920s-era “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”
During a media preview held Wednesday, actress Bonnie Wright, who portrayed Ginny Weasley in all eight “Harry Potter” films introduced the exhibition — bringing along her wand flown in from London for the occasion.

“For anyone who’s coming to the exhibition, even though it’s beautiful when you see the movie, it does feel a little bit removed,” she said. “But to be able to be in the company of these costumes … is really exciting and there’s an intimacy to the experience.”
“I think that’s what is exciting, to see those details,” she added.
The exhibition transports viewers from “Harry Potter’s” magical modern-day world to 1926 New York in “Fantastic Beasts.”
Some of the looks on display from the “Harry Potter” franchise chronicle the costumes of Lord Voldemort — from his youth as Tom Riddle to his rise as the Dark Lord. The transition shows his oxford schoolboy shoes to his patent leather boots as a teen, and finally, the threadbare shoes he dons in his final iteration as an evildoer.

Other gems from the film series include Ron Weasley’s (Rupert Grint) unkempt Hogwarts uniform — with sooty brogans to match, as well as other costumes from the mystical school’s staff.
While the “Harry Potter” franchise focuses on the wares seen mostly around the 2000-era’s wizarding academy, in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” the film showcases some fashion-forward roaring ‘20s styles by costume designer Colleen Atwood.

On display are Redmayne’s suede tan boots and striking blue coat, as well as flapper-inspired fashion worn by actresses Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein) and Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein).
The women team chic party dresses with rounded-toe heels. One tan pair features dark brown ribbon detail, and a black pair incorporates a T-strap profile and rhinestones on the toe bed.
