Kate Beckinsale brought sky-high glamour to the red carpet for the 2023 amfAR Gala Venezia.
While in Venice, Italy for the Sunday night occasion — which was also held during the 2023 Venice Film Festival — Beckinsale arrived in a soaring pair of metallic gold platform sandals. The “Underworld” actress’ set featured a thick, shiny platform base, topped by clear curved toe straps and buckled ankle straps to create an “invisible” effect.
The soaring pair was finished with thin, tapered heels — cast in the same shiny gold hue as their soles — that totaled at least 6 inches in height. The elevated set brought a daring finish to Beckinsale’s attire, while remaining true to her personal penchant for gravity-defying stiletto-heeled, platform and wedged footwear.
Indeed, Beckinsale’s outfit was equally bold, serving drama from head to toe: a sheer black dress with a caped silhouette, which flowed into a long, draped train. The piece was trimmed with zig-zagged tiers of shiny, metallic gold fringe that almost appeared to mimic reflective tinsel, coating Beckinsale’s hemline and sleeves for added flair. The “Serendipity” star’s dress was complete with a keyhole cutout bodysuit base — which also formed the cape’s high neckline — that was coated in shimmering gold sequins for an extra layer of sparkle.

Beckinsale leaned into maximalism to complete her outfit, as well, opting to accessorize with a purple heart-shaped gemstone ring and large, round gold post earrings — which were also covered in gold crystals, allowing her to catch the light at any angle.
The Venice Film Festival will feature international movies and cinematic shorts debuting for the new season. The 80th annual event is also taking place during the SAG-AFTRA strike, which has current interim agreements to allow U.S. actors to appear at the occasion. Aside from numerous premieres — including “Maestro,” “Priscilla” and “Ferrari” — the week will conclude with its starry amFar Gala, featuring performances by Leona Lewis and Rita Ora.
