Lewis Hamilton Shows Off His Artsy Side With Graffiti Mural

Lewis Hamilton has racing down to an art. The motors ports star arrived in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Thursday and participated in a Puma-sponsored cultural immersion, and then shared his experience through graffiti.

Hamilton arrived ahead of Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix Formula One tournament — which he nodded in the artwork with an illustration of his Mercedes AMG Petronas car.

“I have a special affection for Brazil and for the people here,” Hamilton said in a statement. “Whenever I’m in the country, I’m always made to feel so welcome — and this time has been no different. However, I was really surprised when I got to experience the Brazilian underground culture up close. It’s so rich and full of style. It was an honor to share the production of the mural with the artists and the final result is something special.”

It was a joint effort for the Puma athlete, who produced the graffiti piece alongside artists Los Kueios + Liam.

During the creative session Hamilton rocked a pair of white high-top customized Puma x Sophia Chang kicks that incorporate a line-art design.

Puma Brazil’s head of marketing, Fabio Kadow, said that through Hamilton’s international star power, the experience he shared will allow others to see “far beyond the global clichés of what Brazil is made of.”
