Maria Taylor kicked off the NFL’s Kickoff Game — the first of the 2023-2024 season, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Detroit Lions — with a special moment.

On Saturday, Taylor posed on Instagram while cradling her stomach at the football game, revealing her new pregnancy with husband Jon Lee. For the occasion, the NBC Sports commentator laced into a pair of white low-top Gucci sneakers, complete with paneled leather uppers and rounded toes. The versatile, monochrome set was finished with flat rubber soles for a relaxed base.

Taylor opted to pair her single-toned footwear with a similarly single-toned outfit: a blue-green tweed skirt suit, featuring a long-sleeved jacket and miniskirt. Both were accented with two rows of gleaming gold buttons, creating a polished finish for the whimsical set.

Following her announcement, Taylor shared a second post online from her NBC desk in the same white sneakers. On this occasion, her set was paired with a similar monochrome outfit that leaned into “Barbiecore” trends: a deep pink button-up minidress and slightly lighter pink cardigan, each trimmed with textured gold buttons for a dash of formal flair. Fittingly, Taylor captioned the post with a reference to 2023’s hit “Barbie” film, deeming herself “Sports Reporter Barbie.”

Both ensembles were given a softer touch from Taylor’s shoes, which have been a top trend in the footwear market throughout the 2020s — where monochrome white sneakers in a range of shades and materials have soared in popularity.
