Christmas came early as the stars hit the red carpet last night to celebrate the Los Angeles premiere of Disney’s new movie adaption of the holiday favorite “The Nutcracker.”
American Ballet Theatre principal and Under Armour spokeswoman Misty Copeland, who plays the Ballerina Princess in her feature film debut, dazzled in a gorgeous Ermanno Scervino strapless dress detailed with pink and green lacy flower embroideries. While executing a few twirls on the carpet, she showed off her sparkly jeweled silver heels.

During a recent interview with “Good Morning America,” Copeland expressed her excitement about appearing in the movie and its historical implications, gushing, “This movie is going to live on forever. A Disney film with a brown ballerina. To have this next generation see that that’s normal. It’s not going to be, ‘Oh that’s a black ballerina.’ [It’ll be] ‘that’s just a ballerina.'”
“Twilight” alum Mackenzie Foy, who plays the lead role of Clara, also chose an embellished dress with a delicate floral pattern, accessorizing with a pair of cream Sophia Webster sandals decorated with crystal heels. She wore her long hair swept up in a sleek, ballerina-style bun.

Other celebrities who turned out for the premiere include Hannah Zelle and Eris Baker of “This Is Us,” who both made a bold statement with crimson colored shoes. “Extra” host Mario Lopez also attended with his daughter, Gia, still sporting a leg boot following his surgery in July for a torn Achilles tendon.
