Naomi Campbell Talks Her Appearance In The Yeezy Season 3 Show

Supermodel Naomi Campbell sat down with writer Glenn O’Brien and stylist Edward Enninful at The Beatrice Inn in New York this week to talk about their careers in fashion.

O’Brien commented how fashion has started becoming entertainment and brought up Kanye West‘s Yeezy Season 3 show in which Campbell made a surprise appearance.

“I think the Yeezy show for me … I never did anything like that,” Campbell said. “I said yes right away because I’ve always wanted to model at Madison Square Garden. When we were sitting in the dressing room, I tried on the Yeezys — which I’m actually wearing today, they’re so comfy — and I asked how are they going to call us? And they said, ‘Mr. West will call you when he feels it organically.’ And that’s what happened. I had fun.”

The three also touched on the topic of shoes. Campbell, now 46, says she has shoes in storage from when she started modeling at age 16.

“Issey Miyake, Versace, Chanel, Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alaia, Vivienne, Lacroix,” she said.

“We should really go in there,” said Enninful.

“I’m really terrified to go in there!” said Campbell.

Campbell recently released a two-volume coffee-table book recounting her illustrious 30-year career that just keeps going. In addition to the Yeezy show, she’s recently walked in a show for Givenchy and appears in ads for Burberry, Balmain and Apple, not to mention she was just honored by amfAR for her work in helping to fight AIDS.
