Patrick Mahomes swapped his usual Adidas football cleats for a comfortable pair of Crocs on Wednesday, while joining the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs team in a photoshoot. As seen in a video shared by his team on Instagram, the quarterback wore a gray suit, a white button-down shirt with a black tie and white clogs for the occasion.

“Surely QB1 didn’t wear crocs to the playoffs captains shoot…,” reads the caption of the video, which was narrated by Travis Kelce

In the video, Mahomes is questioned about his footwear choice. “What? Do I need shoes?” he answered. “I don’t even know what shoes I have.”

Brittany Mahomes, the wife of the football player, reacted to the video, commenting, “I definitely put shoes in there….come on.”

The video follows with Mahomes finally changing his pair of Crocs to black loafers. In one shot, he also appears barefoot, with his clogs sitting in the background.

Besides being a Super Bowl winner, Patrick Mahomes is a known name in the footwear industry. He signed with Adidas in 2017. In 2021, he released his first signature shoe with the brand, the Mahomes 1 Impact FLX. “I’ve dreamed about this since I was a little kid,” he posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) at the time.

In 2023, a new version of the Impact FLX with the Chiefs colors arrived on the market. “Patrick is an integral part of the adidas family — we are excited for the future as we continue to co-create training and performance apparel and footwear with him,” said Chris McGuire, VP of sports marketing at Adidas.
