Rihanna graced the green carpet at the Fenty x Puma sneaker launch party held in Los Angeles on Monday to celebrate the launch of the brand’s collaborative new Creeper Phatty style.
For the occasion, the hitmaker wore the purple and red colorway of the new sneaker silhouette featuring sleek satin laces, tan platform gum soles, striking striping on the sides and unique and textural suede uppers. The footwear appeared to be fixed with silver charms.
Both institutions unveiled an all-new Creeper style affectionately named the Creeper Phatty just in time for the holiday season. The oversized iteration of the beloved original features thick stacked gum soles and equally thick laces. The “bigger, bolder and phatter” update, as described by Puma, was made available on Nov. 30 in a variety of sizes coming in three colorways, including classic black and white and two color-blocked styles.

“We took our OG Creeper and made it bigger and badder,” Rihanna said in a statement. “When designing the Creeper Phatty we wanted to reinvent the OG Creeper that was loved by so many. It’s a classic silhouette that has been missed, so its return had to be bigger.”
Accompanying her bold Puma branded footwear, Rihanna wore a coordinating faux fur and quilted leather bomber jacket in purple layered overtop a lacy white and red graphic tee. On the bottom, the performer sported baggy denim fitted with gemstone adornments.
For Rihanna, no shoe is too bold — or heel too high. The “Rated R” musician has worn many shoes over the years, including sky-high heels and chunky sneakers. Rihanna’s red carpet styles often include strappy sandals, platforms and pointed-toe pumps by Muaddi, Prada and Tom Ford that coordinate with her outfits. Her off-duty styles also include similarly daring sandals and boots by Celine, Givenchy and Saint Laurent.
