Rihanna was chill in sportswear this weekend.

The global star was spotted in New York City giving relaxed vibes as she stepped out of her hotel. The singer wore a boot fashioned to look like a knitted sock.

Though she missed the Met Gala earlier this month, Rihanna has been spotted out and about frequently in New York City lately.

About the shoe

Rihanna’s shoe is from Bottega Veneta. The style is a knitted cotton boot, made to appear like thick winter socks. The cotton shoe is unlined and goes up to mid-calf. As it is made of cotton, the boot can be styled in a slouched fashion.

Named the Domenica boot, it is currently available for $1,100. The shoe was first seen on the brand’s Fall 2023 runway. Under Matthieu Blazy’s creative direction, the brand has made runway looks in full leather. As such, the Domenica boot was first presented made of leather. The company also has a heeled version in the Atomic boot which reaches almost to knee-high level.

Rihanna’s Shoe Style

Rihanna is widely considered one of the most stylish celebrities, and will stop at very little for the sake of a look. As a result, her shoe choices are varied. Having worked with stylist Jahleel Weaver over the past few years (who also recently signed Dua Lipa), the global star is at home in sock boots, rhinestone-encrusted Amina Muaddi stilettos, and logo-covered Gucci mesh ballet flats. Since 2014, the musician has partnered with Puma and has released styles like her Puma Creeper, which helped bring the classic Puma Suede silhouette back to prominence.

In 2016, she launched a limited-edition collaboration with Manolo Blahnik that crashed the shoemaker’s website. That partnership spanned three collections that spilled into 2017. It included mules, gladiator sandals, slingbacks and more. In the second range of the line, titled “Savage,” the pair remade an iconic Timberland-style boot.
