Rita Ora Swaps Towering Heels for Ballet Flats at DVF Awards 2023 During Venice Film Festival

Rita Ora has been taking over the Venice Film Festival so far, turning some ultra-glam looks that surely turned heads in the romantic Italian city.

The singer, who was seen wearing 7-inch heels upon her arrival in Venice, chose an opposite style to attend the 2023 DVF Awards today. Ora donned a pair of black ballet flats by Alaïa, covered in crystal studs. She also carried a coordinating clutch bag that matched her shoes seamlessly.

For the occasion, the pop star slipped into a floor-length black gown featuring a sheer neckline and long see-through sleeves.

Earlier in the day, the “You & I” singer showed off a sheer, crystal-adorned dress from Ermanno Scervino’s fall 2023 collection. She styled the dazzling strapless number featuring a gauzy mid-length hem with slinky silver sandals that effortlessly tied things together.

Ora’s slinky, crystal-appliqué dress debuted as the eighth look to hit the runway at the Italian fashion house’s show back in February. Revealing what inspired the collection, Ermanno Scervino referenced his love of cinema and specifically touched on old Hollywood movie star Ava Gardner’s sultriness.

The Venice Film Festival will feature international movies and cinematic shorts debuting for the new season. The 80th annual event is also taking place during the SAG-AFTRA strike, which has current interim agreements to allow U.S. actors to appear at the occasion. Aside from numerous premieres — including “Maestro,” “Priscilla” and “Ferrari” — the week will conclude with its starry amfAR Gala, featuring performances by Leona Lewis and Rita Ora.
