Salma Hayek attended the “El Sabor de la Navidad” premiere during the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival held yesterday in Toronto.
To promote her new project at the event, the actress chose her favorite shoe style: platform sandals. Although they were hidden underneath her floor-sweeping dress, the sandals featured a platform of at least 2 inches, giving support to the heels.
Hayek is known for almost always wearing towering heels with platforms on her outings. She even recently wore the style while sunbathing in Mexico — for the occasion, she donned a pair of shiny Amina Muaddi “Dalida” mules accompanied by a bathing suit on her Instagram. The sandals were crafted of shiny patent leather uppers and featured breezy open and rounded toes, thick leather platform soles and equally broad straps that sat in arches across the tops of the star’s toes, situating her shoes in place.
For the TIFF premiere, the “From Dusky Till Dawn” star was outfitted in a white floor-sweeping gown in a form-fitting style. The garment was comprised of elegantly draped fabric along with an elegant train that trailed behind Hayek as she traversed the red carpet. Rounding out her look, the thespian toted a quilted mint green clutch.

“El Sabor de la Navidad” is an upcoming 2023 dramedy directed by Alejandro Lozano and produced by Salma Hayek. The film weaves together three stories depicting the high emotions surrounding one of the most important festivities of the year: Christmas.
Hayek is a longtime wearer of platform heels, both on and off the red carpet. For formal occasions, the “Frida” star often straps into matte neutral or metallic pairs, as well as pointed-toe boots or pumps from a range of luxury brands. When off-duty, she can also be seen in Stella McCartney platform brogues. Over the years, she’s become a mainstay during Fashion Month, regularly attending fashion shows for brands including Gucci, Balenciaga, Altuzarra and Saint Laurent.
