Taylor Swift attended the 2023 MTV VMAs held in Newark, N.J., tonight. Swift has been nominated for an impressive range of categories including, Video of the Year, Best Editing, Album of the Year, Best Pop Video and Artist of the Year among others.
The “Anti Hero” songstress donned a pair of Jimmy Choo “Metz” sandals in black featuring satin uppers and angular square toes. The shoes also included a sturdy, strap-heavy construction that intersected over the top of her toes and around her ankles, securing the pair in place.
The style’s straps were threaded through gold buckle closures and were accompanied by 3 to 4-inch heels, a standard size for many heels.

Mirroring her “Reputation” era, the “Look What You Made Me Do” songstress was outfitted in a floor-length black slit dress from Versace comprised of silver snap closures and an asymmetrical bodice. The garment was strappy and form-fitted and included a daring front-facing slit that traveled up the length of Swift’s leg, stopping at her thigh.
When it comes to footwear, Swift often sticks to aesthetic-focused pairs based on her current album cycle. The “Mean” singer regularly wears ankle boots from Christy Dawn, Hunter and Ugg, as well as Nike and Golden Goose sneakers, while off-duty. For red carpets and onstage performances, she can also be spotted in pumps, sandals and tall boots from brands like Christian Louboutin, Chloe Gosselin, Sophia Webster, Aquazzura and more.
Last year’s VMAs saw Swift make history, winning the coveted Video of the Year category three times in a row. She won the award in 2022 for her music video for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).”
The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) celebrate the top music videos and performances in the music industry. This year’s awards show will honor Shakira with the Video Vanguard Award for her musical contributions to pop culture, and feature a range of performances by stars, including Doja Cat, Anitta, Cardi B, Meghan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj and Olivia Rodrigo.
