The Minions have found a new bad boss in Ruthie Davis.
The bright yellow animated characters from the hit films “Despicable Me” and the “Minions” spin-off franchise are featured in the Ruthie Davis <3 Minions capsule collection that will launch on Friday at Gregory’s Fred Segal in Los Angeles.
Speaking to Footwear News exclusively, Davis called the collaboration “a dream come true.”
“I love all things colorful and cute, but I also love a little irreverence and naughtiness in the mix,” Davis shared. “Like a Minion personality, cute and funny yet mischievous and daring, I tried to juxtapose these elements into my Ruthie Davis <3 Minions designs.”

The shoes play off the evildoers’ yellow skin and denim outfit color palettes, and humorously incorporate designs of their striking big eyes on the sockliner of three silhouettes — a platform, stiletto and sneaker wedge.
Among some of the sleek design details, the platform includes a lucite heel; the stiletto is embellished around the counter with a Minion crafted in Swarvoski crystals; the sneaker wedge features denim on the upper and heel.
The shoes are custom made in Italy and will be available at Fred Segal and Ruthiedavis.com. Prices range from $895 to $1,495.
