Native Shoes x Issey Miyake Introduce Sneakers For Summer 2015

Native Shoes and PLEATS PLEASE Issey Miyake have come together to collaborate on women’s footwear for a fourth time this summer.

Dominique Morriset, the global marketing director for Native Shoes, tells FN the design team blended the two brands’ affection for bright color and interest in future technology.

“We’re excited to work with PLEATS PLEASE Issey Miyake again,” said Morriset. “It only seemed fitting to work together on an iteration of one of our newest silhouettes, the Apollo, a modernized version of the classic moccasin.”

The lightweight version of a moccasin sneaker is being shown in campaign imagery alongside Issey Miyake’s bright tunic tops, printed casual jumpsuits, and pleated dresses, skirts, and pants.

The perforated sneakers are offered in a range of five colors: light gray, mustard yellow, orange, dark gray, and royal blue. Underscoring the two brands’ interest in technology, the heel is made with a 3D printed glossy color. Native was founded just six years ago and works to create shoes that mold to ones feet and require a low energy emissions manufacturing process.
