Burak Uyan is back in the footwear game — and he’s found a fan in street-style star Anna Dello Russo.
The Paris-based designer, who was FN’s emerging-talent winner in 2011, was seen on Russo during Paris Fashion Week, when she wore Uyan’s Anna sandals. (The style was named after Dello Russo, who’s an editor at Vogue Japan.)
“Anna Dello Russo puts fun into today’s fashion with a glamorous twist,” said Uyan. “Her style reflects her personality. She is colorful, stylish, spontaneous, fascinating, audacious — a firework of emotions.”

Meanwhile, for spring ’17, Uyan’s collection — called “In Motion” — was inspired by artists such as Julio Le Parc and Pol Bury.
His favorite style? The Octagon, named after one of Bury’s most famous works, his fountain sculpture in San Francisco.

The designer — who took a break from the industry for a few seasons — said the collection was well-received and that he has picked up several new accounts in Russia and the Middle East.
