British men’s wear label Casely-Hayford has announced its collaboration with American heritage brand Sperry.
The collection, which was shown for the first time during Casely-Hayford’s fall 2016 runway show at London Collections: Men, includes platform brogues, patchwork sneakers and boat shoes, the all-American classic style for which Sperry is primarily known.
The father-and-son design duo found common ground with Sperry’s sportswear aesthetic and its commitment to continually innovating their design and manufacturing methods.
The partnership also allowed them to experiment by blending elements of the classic American sportswear style with their more rebellious aesthetic, adding chunky platforms to Sperry’s classic boat shoes, for instance.

“There is a synergy between the two brands in our constant aim to strive for innovation through tradition. Infusing an American classic with nuances of British subculture is a great collision of both our worlds,” said Charlie Casely-Hayford.
This is the brand’s second footwear collaboration. Last year, it partnered with luxury French footwear brand J.M. Weston on three styles of men’s shoes, including laceups in a Prince of Wales check and quilted penny loafers.
Sperry has also tapped a number of young labels in the past for collaborations, including YMC (You Must Create) and Quoddy. By partnering with Casely-Hayford, the brand aims to enter the U.K. contemporary market.
