Lane Crawford Debuts Capsule Collection For Its 165th Anniversary

Retailer Lane Crawford is marking its 165th anniversary by partnering with key shoe and accessories designers on a capsule collection. Manolo Blahnik, Robert Clergerie, Sophie Hulme and Bing Xu have all teamed up with the Asian department store on the initiative.

The partnership with Robert Clergerie, helmed by Roland Mouret, features nine styles that are modern updates on Clergerie’s archival designs. The looks feature new fabrics and colorways.

Lane Crawford is reimagining Blahnik’s iconic Hangisi velvet pump in black and burgundy with a pearl-encrusted buckle.

MSGM is also creating an exclusive collection for Lane Crawford that features playful heart motifs that capture the brand’s effervescence.

Earlier this summer, Lane Crawford introduced its newest flagship store at IFC mall in Hong Kong. The 6,000-sq.-ft. space contains four unique rooms that showcase fashion and jewelry items.

The retailer calls the new store a “next-generation” retail space. It was created in collaboration with design firm Yabu Pushelberg, which is also behind other retail stores throughout China. Each room is regularly changed and curated by international designers and Lane Crawford’s buying and creative teams. Two of the rooms were curated by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who appeared at the store to debut their fall ’15 line for The Row, as well as art, shoes and jewelry chosen by the sisters.
