Margaux Opens First By-Appointment Shoe Fitting Studio In NYC

Margaux, the direct-to-consumer, made-to-measure ballet flat brand known for their classic colors and cushy soles, is opening their studio for by-appointment fittings. Kicking off this month, the first day of the week, dubbed ‘Margaux Mondays’ see co-founders and Harvard grads Alexa Buckley and Sarah Pierson welcome customers to their well-appointed work space in New York City’s Flatiron to get a feel for their shoes and have four parts of their foot expertly measured.

“It’s nice that there is a physical space people can come to now who don’t want to measure themselves,” says Buckley, adding that they have been known to make office and in-home visits for discerning (and busy) customers.”It’s a fun way to capture the demand of Manhattanites, typically on the Upper East Side or often visiting guests in hotels,” she notes.

The idea for a studio was bolstered by the positive response the duo received to trunk show events with select retail partners, such as Capitol in North Carolina. “They have such strong relationships with their clients, so the turnout and sales were really impressive,” says Pierson. “People love to see the collection and colors in person. It was time to get our own space.”
