Celebrity stylist Patricia Field is always busy dressing others, but she still finds time to pull together her own look. “I like a narrative,” she said of her personal approach to style. “I tell it with an accessory — a hat, a shoe color — something that isn’t typical, but still looks great and interesting.”
Field’s quirky sense of style caught the attention of Crocs, which tapped her for a special-edition women’s collection launching for fall ’15. “It’s a product that’s futuristic in its manufacture,” said Field. “It’s efficient and accessible.”
Her own shoe wardrobe is appropriately diverse, ranging from Manolo Blahnik and Dolce & Gabbana to the funky brand Creepers, a new favorite. “I started looking for cute flats, went into Trash & Vaudeville in New York and bought chartreuse, patent leather-and-white suede Creepers,” she said.
“I also wear sandals, and I like boots from Fiorentini & Baker.” While Field has an eclectic apparel and shoe wardrobe, her favorite fashion era is the early 1960s. “It was modern,” she said. “It was forward and optimistic.”
