With Yoox’s Italian roots (their headquarters are in Bologna, a hub for footwear factories, after all) it’s not hard to find a variety of homeland shoe labels at deep discounts. One of the site’s key points of differentiation is its plentiful offering of past season picks.
Chances are, if you had a missed connection with a designer shoe, boot, sandal or stiletto, you’ll find it here, albeit not without some digital deep-diving, but then, that’s half the fun.
The key to finding pairs that haven’t passed their Best Before date is to cull the offering towards still-relevant styles.
One of fashion’s most enduringly evergreen trends is metallics. From rose gold to burnished metals and rich jewel tones, shimmering finishes are sure bets. Block heels from Prada and Marni would transition into the spring season nicely and look similar to styles currently offered by both brands respectively.
Sneakers by Golden Goose and L’Autre Chose get a glam spin in glitter dusted finishes, while borrowed-from-the-boys versions from Y-3 and Marc by Marc Jacobs glisten in gold. And while it remains to be seen it the e-tail giant will indeed merge with Net-A-Porter, pretty penny shoes (like a copper pair from Chloe) are wise buys right now.
