Alexander Zverev took home the win against Italian player Jannik Sinner in a five-set game that ended in 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. The matchup, the longest of this year’s tournament, took place on Monday during the U.S. Open 2023 quarter-finals held in New York.

The triumph is monumental for Zverev given the ankle injury he sustained during the 2022 French Open. Zverev will face off against Spanish tennis champ Carlos Alcaraz tonight in the quarterfinals.

The tennis star laced up his signature Adidas sneakers in a subdued low-top white and black style. Each pair of his namesake style was worn beyond repair, thanks in part to the grueling heat and humidity in New York. Mid-match, the footwear was photographed with holes in the uppers.
