The Mood: Sportif speed demons.
The Shoes: Zippy winklepicker flats raced by, worn with roadster knit one-pieces. The uppers of these lace-up leather styles often came upholstered and tufted like the interior of a vintage car, though the silhouette was reminiscent of a ’60s ski boot. There were also thick chrome heels on tall boots, which seemed to play off the classic Pucci mountainscapes and prints which designer Massimo Giorgetti applied to outerwear.
The Verdict: While last season’s shoes were more of a talking point, this speedy alpine influence for fall was more appropriately referential.
