Frances Valentine‘s latest collection focuses on the cutesy and the colorful.
Designer Kate Valentine, formerly Kate Spade, introduced saturated hues and added them onto her core footwear styles. Think deep reds, emerald greens and sky blues with a slight metallic sheen. New styles included a mule peep-toe sandal with bow detail, finished with its recurring dome heel.

“We used a lot of embellishment such as crystal jewels in clear, red, green and royal stones,” said Valentine. “We also mixed many different materials together including glitter leather with silk, and stretch velvet in jewel tones. Our floral embroidery is colorful with mirrors woven through it.”
Other updates included a squared-toe Mary Jane flat with crystal embellishment, as well as Chelsea boots in silver and black glitter.

This month, Valentine’s fall ’16 Marybeth style was featured as FN’s Shoe of the Week. The ankle-strap pump with mink pom-pom is a playful standout that can be worn from day to night.
The brand was launched for the spring ’16 season and is the first venture for Valentine and husband Andy Spade since being at the helm of the Kate Spade brand. “I love all the details and character you can evoke with shoes. They are charming objects and the most rewarding to make,” Valentine said.
