Fall 2015 Women’s Trend: Laceup Heels

Fall’s hottest shoe trend is not for the lazy. For fall ’15, ultra-laceup heels require an extra step in your morning dress routine, with brands embracing the look in both stiletto and block-heel silhouettes.

While the minimal strappy look has been hot this past year — with styles like Stuart Weitzman’s Nudist and Tamara Mellon’s Frontline taking off with celebs on the red carpet — a return to fussy, tied-up footwear has emerged once again.

The laceup heel made an appearance at all price points for the season, from high-end designers to more contemporary brands.

Luxe labels like Aquazzura and Gianvito Rossi have made the laceup their signatures, offering it each season in different colorways and treatments. Gucci’s laceup kitten-heel sandal, finished with fur pom-pom tassels, was a standout of the season.

More accessible options from Aldo, Joie and ASOS take on the trend in a simpler, but still eye-catchin, context. To wear the style, try pairing the heels with a knee-length skirt. You want the the shoes to shine, after all.
