Looking Back: The Best Men’s Shoes From Milan Fashion Week In 2015

God bless the Italians. In honor of the fall ’16 men’s shows in Milan approaching on Jan. 16, Footwear News is looking back on some of the standout styles to come out of Milan Fashion Week in 2015. The past year’s runways offered an exciting assortment of men’s shoes, from Bally’s luxe hiker boots to Gucci’s fur-lined mules.

For the fall ’15 season, new treatments were standouts. Bally lead the season with its high-end takes on classic footwear shapes: snakeskin hiker boots and retro runners in vibrant citrus hues. Gucci caused a stir with its kangaroo fur-lined horsebit loafers, which later flew off of retailer’s shelves. Talk about an” it” shoe.

Flash-forward to spring ’16, and designers got more daring. Marni presented two-tone sandals with built-in wool socks. Bottega Venetta also showed socks and sandals, though the option to forgo the risky styling was there.

Salvatore Ferragamo pushed sandals and sneakers, two styles that were a hit for the season. Dolce & Gabbana showed an entire collection of espadrilles, some printed with stripes or embellished with colored lace.
