SJP Collection For Tracy Reese Spring 2016: New York Fashion Week

Upon reflection, Tracy Reese’s spring ’16 collection is what one might imagine the perfectly curated spring closet looks like. Reese seems to have the ability to take her woman from the street to poolside to a party with complete ease.

The footwear was no exception. The label announced just two days before the show that it was collaborating with SJP Collection on the shoes for spring ’16. That was something of an “ah-ha” moment that begs the question: how have these two never collaborated before? Both designers have a love for color,  whimsy and intricate detail.

Bright pink, aqua, yellow, sherbet orange, and pale green ruled the runway. Reese also rolled in several warm weather favorites—sheer cutouts, lace, bare shoulders and florals. She even managed to mix in silver metallics and sequins.

The shoes commanded just as much attention as the clothes. Pointy-toe booties were offered in shimmery pink, silver glitter, gold, gunmetal silver and pastel blue. The same style was also shown in clear with a colored cap-toe and sheer colored hosiery underneath, which might be the answer for those early spring days when it’s not quite warm enough to bare one’s feet. The hosiery was custom made by Commando.
