5 Shoes From Rebecca Minkoff’s Fashion Week Show To Wear Now

Rebecca Minkoff was one of the first designers to adopt a full in-season model, which the brand dubs #runwaytoretail. She played up this modern approach for her fall ’16 collection, which was available for sale on her site even prior to today’s show and has already been in stores for a few weeks now.

The runway featured 11 different shoe styles that are all currently available online.

Standouts included the Bojanna Too crushed velvet boot in a rich indigo, the Lulu floral embroidered bootie, the Romy glove flat in metallic silver, the Blair ladder-strapped block heel and the Lizelle boot.

The show venue, a cornered-off block of Greene Street in New York’s Soho neighborhood right outside her boutique, captured what Minkoff spoke of in show notes as an immersive experience, with total looks worn in situ. The collection, inspired by P.D. Eastman’s The Nest Is Best (and the idea that home is often the most enchanting place of all), certainly drove home Minkoff’s central thesis here: real products inspired by real New York life. Hence, no spindly heels. These shoes were all made for walking city streets.
