Fall ’15 Comfort Footwear Highlights Boots and Athletic Looks

Comfort footwear is all about giving the season’s stand-out looks a relaxed point of view. Western and military-inspired boots to platform pumps and man-tailored looks, seamlessly incorporate all-essential elements such as cushioned footbeds, flexible outsoles and super-soft leathers.

Straight from the season’s runways is the all-important boot, with short versions dominating the category. There’s an evening-ready look in metallic reptile from designer Thierry Rabotin that’s set on a gold-colored heel, while L’Amour des Pieds dresses up the quintessential Chelsea boot by setting it on a slender mid-heel.

Knee-high boots are also part of the boot story in artisan knit versions from Aetrex, while Bos & Co., does a jeans-friendly equestrian look in shades of blue, a nod to one of the season’s leading colors.

Overall, the casual movement continues with athletic looks dominating the category. As yoga pants move from the gym to the streets, fitness looks have carved a niche all their own, such as Therafit‘s feminine take on the trend with a gold-and-white running look.

Comfort designers are also revealing their wild side with a range of jungle-inspired animal prints on everything from pumps top boots. Wolky adds zebra-print calf hair to a funky side-zip sneaker boot, birding the best of the sneaker and shoe worlds.
