Asics is upgrading one of its most popular models with help from Tokyo-based footwear and apparel brand Atmos and up-and-coming South Korean apparel brand Undermycar. Retailing for $150, the collaboration centers around Asics’ Gel-Kayano 14, a model created in 2008 that is designed to resemble the “flash” of the repeated motion of landing on the heel and kicking off with the toes while running. The collaborative sneaker is available in glossy silver, navy and olive colorways fitted with metal plating featuring co-branding that can be attached to the upper eyelet. The footwear design aims to marry street-style aesthetics and high-fashion, incorporating each brand’s unique ethos. Asics x Atmos x Undermycar’s collaboration will be available at select Atmos stores on Thursday.
