Ballet flats brought a burst of romance, whimsy and feminine flair to 2023.
This year, the lightweight shoe returned to the mainstream with a variety of silhouettes. Owed to the rising aesthetic popularity of “balletcore,” as well as the impending resurgence of the 2010’s, pairs were seen in leather, metallic and satin iterations around the world. Stars including Katie Holmes, Nicky Hilton, Ever Anderson and more also stepped out in styles from brands including Chanel, Miu Miu and French Sole from the streets of New York City to the front rows of Paris Fashion Week, cementing their status as a top footwear trend.
