The stars were aligned — and in glamorous fashion, to boot — for this year’s amfAR Gala Venezia.
Held during the Venice Film Festival to raise money for AIDS research, the 2023 amfAR Gala’s red carpet featured plenty of height-defying footwear and sleek outfits. Rita Ora — one of the event’s performers, alongside Leona Lewis — and Kate Beckinsale strapped into towering sets of platform heels for the occasion, some with heels totaling upwards of 6 inches tall. Meanwhile, stars like Bella Thorne and Carla Bruni simply slipped or strapped into thin-soled stiletto heels for a classic finish.
On the menswear front, shoes were simple and versatile. Lucas Bravo and Nolan Funk stepped out in sets of timeless, glossy black brogues. For a modern take on traditional formal shoes, Mark Emms slipped on a pair of Cuban-heeled boots, while filmmaker Ivan Olita laced into a pair of chunky lug-soled leather brogues.
