Street Style Stars of the Decade

Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker went from shoe lover in “Sex and the City” to shoe designer when she launched her SJP Collection in partnership with George Malkemus in 2014. Since then, she continuously wears her own footwear designs. And even though she technically isn’t Carrie Bradshaw, her love of fashion has carried on since the show ended in 2004, which is apparent in her everyday outfits. Lupita Nyong’o

In 2013, Lupita Nyong’o starred in “12 Years a Slave,” which earned her an Oscar. Not only did she become a critically acclaimed actress following its release, but she also became known for her statement fashion. Working with stylist Micaela Erlanger, Nyong’o shows her love of color and interesting silhouettes, donning high and low shoe designers, from Aldo to Attico.

Justin Bieber

The pop star launched his first studio album a decade ago and since then his style has evolved through the years. Wearing Supra sneakers and Adidas track jackets, Vans slip-ons with bandanas and Crocs with hoodies, Bieber has had many fashion phases. Earlier this year, Bieber launched his own unisex clothing brand, Drew House, which is inspired by his middle name and manufactured in Los Angeles. Harry Styles

Glam rock has a new meaning thanks to Harry Styles. After One Direction broke up in 2015, the singer went on his way solo, releasing an album in 2017 and his latest in December. While his music has garnered much praise, it’s his playful suiting, eccentric aesthetic and nonconformist fashion that’s made headlines over the decade. Plus, he’s a major Gucci enthusiast. He teamed up with creative director Alessandro Michele this month for a special-addition Gucci T-shirt in celebration of his new album.

Rihanna

The past 10 years have seen the rise of Rihanna. The singer has dominated the music world, and she took over the fashion and beauty industry by storm. After Puma named Rihanna creative director of its women’s line in 2014, the only way was up for the superstar. In addition to multiple collections made in partnership with Puma, Rihanna went her own way, launching a lingerie brand named Savage X Fenty in 2018. In 2019, she launched her Fenty fashion house under luxury fashion group LVMH. As far as her own personal style goes, the singer has proven that fashion rules do not apply to her, wearing often outrageous ensembles that simply work. Zendaya

Zendaya is no stranger to the fashion world. She’s launched her own shoe and clothing line in 2016, which is no longer in business. Then in 2019, she teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger for two buzzy see-now, buy-now collections. Working with stylist Law Roach since 2011, Zendaya’s girlish style has evolved from her days as a tween Disney star to today, starring in HBO’s “Euphoria” series with a wardrobe of bold looks that push the envelope. Céline Dion

Call it a comeback of sorts, but when Céline Dion walked out of her Paris hotel in the summer of 2016 wearing the Vetements “Titantic” oversize hoodie with the faces of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet plastered on it, she caused a frenzy. Since then, her street style has not only turned heads but it hassparked her full-on fashion transformation. Donning editorial-esque ensembles, sitting front-row at fashion weeks and making sweat suits look couture, Dion has truly hit her zenith as a fashion maven with guidance from stylist Law Roach. Rita Ora

The singer Rita Ora has never been shy when it comes to dressing. She once said on BBC Radio 2, “I have a whole storage unit of clothes. It’s like a factory. I can’t wear things twice. Meghan Markle

There’s no denying Meghan Markle’s influence on fashion. After all, the term “Markle Sparkle” has been coined to express the impact her approval has on sales for designers. Lyst’s 2019 Year in Fashion report offers further proof, naming the Duchess of Sussex its No. 1 Power Dresser. According to the fashion search platform, Markle’s outfits fueled an average 216% increase in searches for pieces similar to those she wore. In October 2018, Meghan Markle wore a Martin Grant trench coat, Karen Gee dress and Rothy’s flats.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively is a Christian Louboutin fanatic, so much so she’s forged a relationship with the designer himself. When the actress has a press tour, she pulls out all the stops. Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham has been the master of stepping out in sky-high stilettos over the past decade. She’s particularly been a fan of Casadei Blade pumps, but since designing her full shoe collection for fall ’17, the designer is often spotted in her own line. Katie Holmes

For the past decade, actor Katie Holmes has proven her casual and comfortable personal style is one to envy. North West

North — daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West — has grown into a mini fashion force. Since birth, she’s been photographed with her parents, wearing edgy outfits, and her shoe style is showing a whole new side to kids’ footwear. North has been spotted in dad’s Yeezy line, Charlotte Olympia, Vans and Dr. Martens. And it looks like her advanced fashion sense will only continue after receiving Michael Jackson’s actual coat for Christmas this year. A$AP Rocky

A front-row regular at fashion weeks, rapper A$AP Rocky is one of hip-hop’s greatest tastemakers. He’s created a sneaker for Under Armour, been in Dior ads and was one of the first to don Virgil Abloh’s Off-White x Air Jordan 1 sneakers. Olivia Culpo

Kendall Jenner

At the beginning of this decade Kendall Jenner went from learning to walk the runway to mastering it as one of today’s most sought-after models. Lady Gaga

From rocker grunge with 10-inch platform boots to Hollywood glam, nobody does street style like Lady Gaga. The pop star has gone through many fashion phases over the past decade, wearing truly avant-garde ensembles. Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill made waves in the last few years, not only for his critically acclaimed acting roles, but for his fashion too. The actor continually stepped out in ’90s-inspired skate style, and he made headlines for his normcore ensembles. Kaia Gerber

Since making her runway debut at the spring ’18 Calvin Klein show in September 2017, Kaia Gerber has continuously walked the biggest shows on the calendar. Plus, the supermodel on the rise made mom jeans look cool this year, often sporting ’90s trends. Gerber is a fan of combat boots, Nike and Converse. And to top off her street style game, she’s also been spotted coordinating looks with mom Cindy Crawford. Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid has used the Western trend to her advantage when it comes to street style. The model is often spotted in Western-inspired boots by Fendi, for instance, and garb that gives off that country and outdoorsy feel. Yes, she can wear towering heels with ease, but Lopez can always make a fashion statement with a classic pair of Timberland boots or Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers. Bella Hadid is a supermodel who can make sneakers look as glam as stilettos. Kim Kardashian

She’s been the most-googled celebrity multiple times during the decade and with that much fame comes a lot of fashion. Kim Kardashian West has had a busy 10 years evolving her style, which has included bike shorts, hoodies, thigh-high boots, PVC sandals, neon dresses, flip-flop heels and, of course, Yeezys. Amal Clooney

Before she married George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin garnered much attention, not only for her distinguished career and for dating the famous bachelor but also for her classic, elegant style. She’s nailed the power pump (and suit) look, wearing designs by Christian Louboutin, Oscar de la Renta, Gianvito Rossi, Jimmy Choo and more. Hailey Baldwin

Often spotted in unassuming ensembles, FN’s 2017 Style Influencer of the Year Hailey Baldwin found a way to elevate her looks with confidence and comfort, often by combining unexpected pieces. “It’s about not being afraid to mix things together,” she explained to FN. “Being comfortable is really important. Even if I’m in heels, I make sure I’m in sweats or not something that’s supertight from top to bottom.
