Help is here. The footwear industry has come to the rescue with super-lightweight looks — some weighing in at six ounces a shoe — that allows for multiple pairs to be carried along without having to pay a penalty at the check-in counter.
With summer vacations being planned, there are lots of fashionable options when it comes to light-as-a-feather footwear. While you may think a pair of flip-flops couldn’t add much at the scale, many are made of rubber that can tip the scale.
Crocs has led the way in the category with its proprietary Croslite closed cell resin material that creates a feather-like feel on the foot, while Telic does its signature thong-style sandal for men and women down in Novalaon, a feather-light material with a cushioned bounce-back effect.

Cole Haan does its take on the lightweight trend with its popular ZeroGrand collection featuring its proprietary Grand.OS technology. Styles run the gamut from dress-casual wingtip for men in suede that weighs in at about 10.2 ounces per shoe.
The athletic and athleisure markets offer their own takes on feather light footwear from BZees that typically weigh in at under six ounces to performance running styles from Nike.
