Spring Trend: 6 Blue Shoes for Men

Feeling blue? Fuggedaboutit.

Men’s footwear designers are bringing the color into the spotlight for spring ’17, interpreting it in a wide range of hues that include bright sky, chambray and nautical navy.

While most men are accustomed to wearing the color blue, likely having grown up in jeans, blue shoes may be out of their comfort zone. And while Elvis popularized the look in his famous song “Blue Suede Shoes,” most guys may have to be coaxed into a pair.

Some fashion trends start at the designer level and then slowly trickle down to more mainstream brands. But blue is showing up across the board for spring, including a classic slip-on sneaker style from Ben Sherman and a suede chukka boot from Frank Wright.

Since the color is a fashion statement all its own, the silhouettes are better kept classic. There’s a croco-print penny moc from George Brown Bilt, a wingtip oxford from Rancourt & Co. and a military-inspired oxford from Tricker’s.

Still not convince to give blue a try? To make them less conspicuous, let them easily footnote a pair of jeans. And with all the washes around, there’s sure to be a color to complement just about any pair.
