The Shoes The Top 2016 NBA Draft Picks Wore In College

The 2016 NBA Draft for the most part went without any surprises on Thursday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. — aside from a blockbuster trade involving the Oklahoma City Thunder and Orlando Magic — with Ben Simmons taking the No. 1 overall spot and Brandon Ingram coming in at No. 2. Rounding out the Top 5 were Jaylen Brown, Dragan Bender and Kris Dunn.

All of the aforementioned picks had sneaker deals in place prior to draft night, with Simmons signing with Nike and Adidas landing the four remaining ballers. Check out what these new professionals wore before they made it to the NBA.

1. Ben Simmons, LSU

Simmons suited up in purple and gold in his one year in college, but he will be wearing red, white and blue next season as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. It’s unknown what Nike shoe he will be wearing throughout the season, but while at LSU, he wore various LeBron James signature shoes, including the LeBron 13.

2. Brandon Ingram, Duke University

The Duke standout will be in the former home of Kobe Bryant next season, but he won’t be wearing the brand he wore on the court in college while in the pros. Ingram, who wore the Nike KD 8 for the Blue Devils, signed a deal with Adidas before the draft.

Bender didn’t play college ball in the States, but laced up the Adidas 2015 Crazylight Boost Primeknit while playing for Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv. The newest member of the Phoenix Suns will also be wearing Adidas for the 2016-17 season.
