Adidas Adds DeAndre Hopkins To Its Football Roster

Adidas is adding another football star to its roster: Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. He joins fellow NFL players Aaron Rodgers, Von Miller, Josh Norman and others.

Hopkins’ multiyear contract will focus on the Adizero lightweight cleat. The brand will feature Hopkins in upcoming campaigns across multiple categories including Adidas Originals. He’ll also collaborate on Adizero cleats and accessories.

“Adidas has built a ton of energy with their combination of innovation and style, and I wanted to partner with them to help build on this momentum,” Hopkins said. “I felt this was the perfect fit for me because Adidas is already known for speed and I am excited about the potential to get involved with their work in fashion and culture — such as helping to bring a ‘cleathead’ culture to life.”

Hopkins was the Texans’ first-round draft pick in 2013. Two years later, he set the team record for most touchdown receptions in a season and made the Pro Bowl team.

Jeff McGillis, head of U.S. team sports for Adidas, expressed excitement about the Hopkins announcement.

“DeAndre’s style and personality, combined with his speed and tenacity on the field, are a natural extension of Adidas football,” McGillis said.
