Ain’t that sweet: After nearly 10 years together, Adidas and pro golfer Dustin Johnson are renewing their union.
The athletic brand announced today that the two parties have inked another multiyear sponsorship deal. In a statement, Johnson said, “Adidas Golf is more than a sponsor. They have been with me since the start of my career; we’ve collaborated, created and celebrated together. I’m grateful for the support Adidas Golf has given me and look forward to seeing what we can do together moving forward.”
The No. 2-ranked player on the PGA Tour first signed with Adidas Golf in 2007. In competitions this year, he’s been sporting the brand’s Adidas Golf Tour360 Boost shoes in multiple colorways and was wearing the cleats when he won the U.S. Open in June. Currently he’s competing for Team USA at the Ryder Cup.

According to Adidas, Johnson has helped catapult the brand’s footwear to the No. 2 market share position (based on Golf Datatech’s U.S. retail studies). Its Tour360 Boost shoes feature a premium leather upper with the brand’s Climaproof technology, a full-length Boost midsole, a re-engineered heel shape and a lighter and more flexible saddle material.
Other athletes on the Adidas Golf roster include Daniel Berger, William McGirt and Sergio Garcia.
However, the brand lost a key partner earlier this month, when Jason Day signed a footwear-and-apparel deal with Nike. That was following the announcement from Adidas AG that it would exit the golf equipment business by selling its TaylorMade, Adams and Ashworth labels.
