Adidas and Lionel Messi Drop New X Crazyfast ‘Las Estrellas’ Soccer Cleats

Lionel Messi is taking strides forward with Adidas after this year’s World Cup — and even releasing a new soccer cleat in the process.

Following his win at the 2023 Cup with Inter Miami CF in August, Messi and the athletic brand have joined forces on a new X Crazyfast “Las Estrellas” soccer cleat. The style, as shared on Adidas’ Instagram page, is inspired by Messi’s own Leyena cleats worn during his winning Cup match.

The new shoes feature a narrow-toed silhouette with lightweight white textile uppers. For added flair, the set is overlaid with pale blue paneling, as well as molded metallic gold paneling that gleams across its counters. Curved gold stripes — as well as a blue-lined iteration of Adidas’ signature triple stripes — cover the pair’s front panels, finishing the lace-up style with a graphic punch. The style’s base is complete with deep blue cleat outsoles, practically allowing for traction and grip on the field.

The launch of Messi’s cleats marked the athlete’s latest endeavor with Adidas. In July, the soccer star took center stage — alongside Lena Oberdorf, Mary Fowler, Alessia Russo and more — in Adidas’ campaign for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Prior to his Inter Miami CF win at the Cup, Messi’s team’s similar pink Adidas jerseys could also be purchased on the brand’s website.

Messi’s partnership with Adidas is wide-ranging, beginning when he first starred in a campaign for the athletic label in 2006. In 2017, the athlete signed a lifetime contract with the brand, releasing his own namesake apparel line and starring in subsequent campaigns over the years.
