Air Jordan is looking to add another shoe to its list of uniquely women’s styles with the Air Jordan 4 “Shimmer.”
The main inspiration comes from neutral shades of skin tones, and is highlighted by nubuck overlays and burnished leather that is meant to age to a fine sheen overtime. The TPU wings and lace locks are transparent and the tongue is topped off by metallic, electroplated Jumpman branding. The earthy feel of the shoe, in combination with the chrome detailing, has led some to compare this shoe to makeup, and the chrome to a cosmetics mirror.
For its part, Nike has stated that the “Shimmer” is meant to celebrate “inclusivity in the world with a variety of colors that represent a plurality of skin tones.” The pair clearly has some similarities with the Off-White Air Jordan 4 “Sail,” which featured an equally elegant and toned down color scheme.
With hundreds of Air Jordan releases coming this year alone, there will certainly be something for everybody to choose from.

The Air Jordan 4 WMNS “Shimmer” is set to be released on Sept. 9 at select retailers and on Nike.com with a retail price of $190.
