APL Releases Its First Training Shoe

Although the NBA once banned its proprietary technology, APL is continuing its push to become a major player in all facets of the athletic world with its latest release, a training shoe — the brand’s first foray into the training space.

The Ascend, a mid-cut silhouette, has a retail price of $185 and is available now via the brand’s website, athleticpropulsionlabs.com. For its initial release, the style will come in three colorways: midnight, faded denim and burgundy; white, black and cosmic gray; and black with metallic silver.

APL is known for its technological advances in athletic footwear, some of which are featured in the Ascend. The shoe is well-cushioned with the brand’s Propelium midsole and outsole, designed for extra comfort and to give the shoe a clean look. The heel has an 8 mm drop, a full-length honeycomb mesh upper with minimal overlays, an articulated eye row for a flexible lockdown and multiple lacing options to customize the shoe’s fit.
