Adidas athlete Lemi Berhanu Hayle was crowned the men’s champion today at the Boston Marathon, while Nike runner Atsede Baysa crossed the finish line as the women’s winner.
Hayle, 21-years-old from Ethiopia, finished the course with an unofficial time of 2:12 in Adidas sneakers with bright orange laces. Baysa, also from Ethiopia, clocked an unofficial time of 2:29, wearing red Nike sneakers for her big win.

In 2015, Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopa was crowned the men’s winner for the second time. In the women’s division, Caroline Rotich of Kenya took the first-place title.

In 2014, Skechers athlete Meb Keflezighi became the first American man to win the Boston Marathon since Greg Meyer in 1983.
In 2011, Geoffrey Mutai of Kenya set the course record at 2:03:02. In 2014, Rita Jeptoo from Kenya set the women’s course record with a time of 2:18:57.
