Brandblack Preps NFL Star DeSean Jackson’s Shoe & Releases New Style Today

Since launching its first footwear style in February 2014 — the Raptor basketball shoe later renamed the J Crossover — Brandblack has consistently released acclaimed styles in basketball and lifestyle markets. This month, the brand has a pair of styles sure to turn heads — a lifestyle silhouette and a training shoe bearing NFL standout DeSean Jackson’s name.

Its latest lifestyle release, the Raven, is in stores now and retails for $90. The shoe makes its debut in three colorways: black, olive and white.

The Brandblack Raven is the label’s next athletic-inspired sneaker for the fashion-focused consumer, built to be worn all day and night with comfort and style. The shoe features a full-length injection molded Jetlon midsole, engineered space mesh for breathability and a snug fit, and thermo-plastic membranes and a molded external heel counter for support.

And on Sept. 22, Brandblack will release the signature training shoe for its sponsored star receiver for the Washington Redskins. The DJX is the brand’s trainer inspired by Jackson, made to appease the athlete as well as the lifestyle sneaker fan. The shoe, according to Brandblack, is a lightweight, responsive and durable trainer that feels like a running shoe but can handle all aspects of high-intensity training. The DJX features a Jetlon midsole, as well as a socklike fit upper with an injected exoskeleton for support.

Brandblack announced in November that it had signed Jackson, a former Philadelphia Eagle who is about to enter his third season with the Redskins.

“This isn’t your average brand — it’s for those who like to stand out from the rest,” Jackson said in a statement last fall. “It’s a perfect fit for me, and I am excited about my future with this forward-thinking company.”
