Brandblack Athlete Josh Smith Traded To Houston Rockets

Brandblack-sponsored baller Josh Smith has been traded from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Houston Rockets, according to multiple reports.

Smith spent part of the 2014-15 season on the Rockets after being traded from the Detroit Pistons. The 11-year veteran was a big part of the Rockets’ playoff run, averaging 13.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in the postseason before the Golden State Warriors ousted Houston in the Western Conference Finals. Smith signed with the Clippers before the season on a one-year veteran minimum contract, $1.5 million. This season, Smith has put up career low numbers, averaging 5.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.

According to multiple reports, the Clippers received the draft rights to foreign players Serhiy Lishchuk and Maarty Leunen, drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2004 (traded to the Rockets in 2008) and the Rockets in 2008, respectively. Neither player has played a regular-season game in the NBA. The Clippers will also send cash to the Rockets for the balance of Smith’s salary, according to reports.
