Brooks Releases Berlin-Inspired Ghost 8

With the Berlin Marathon quickly approaching, Seattle-based running brand Brooks has given its Ghost 8 shoe an artistic makeover inspired by the city and the route the marathon travels.

The visually compelling iteration of the brand’s neutral running shoe features a bold color palate, boasts graffiti and paint splatter throughout its upper and midsole, and an illustration of the city’s skyline on the heel. The design, according to the brand, is meant to capture Berlin’s vibrant street art scene.

In black and white graffiti-styled writing are the words Brooks and Berlin, near the toecap and on the heel, respectively. The upper features red, teal, black, white and yellow paint splatter spots, with black and white accents and royal blue Brooks branding. The midsole also features a paint splatter pattern with white peeking through the open spots, with a royal blue bottom.

The Ghost 8 features the brand’s BioMoGo DNA midsole, for adaptive cushioning, full-length Segmented Crash Pad fir a smooth transition, Omega Flex Grooves for flexibility, and a mesh upper for breathability. The shoe, built for running on roads and for runners with a medium or high arch, also features a 12mm drop and weighs 10.3 oz.
