As Footwear News learned last month at the Agenda trade show in Long Beach, Calif., Brooks Heritage has teamed up with Los Angeles-based sportswear brand FairPlay on a spring ’17 collaboration.
Their joint collection will consist of a head-to-toe selection of apparel and footwear, set to hit stores in February 2017.
The first item to be revealed from the line is FairPlay’s take on Brooks’ classic Regent running sneaker. The dark and dangerous style features deep black tones, accented by reflective 3M embellishments and a speckled outsole that evokes thoughts of stars in the night sky — a night sky that could be occupied by alien forces.
According to the brands, the FairPlay x Brooks Heritage line is inspired by the legendary “Battle of Los Angeles,” an anti-aircraft aerial barrage that took place over the city on Feb. 25, 1942.
