Carmelo Anthony’s kicks couldn’t be ignored during Sunday’s game between the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors. Anthony wore his newest signature shoe, the Jordan Melo M12, in a fresh orange player’s-edition colorway.
The kicks debuted on Jan. 2 and pay homage to a recreation center in Baltimore, where Anthony grew up. Additional colorways are being rolled out through spring ’16.
Despite falling to Golden State, the Knicks held Warriors star Stephen Curry to only 13 points. At one point, Anthony was guarding Curry with his hand to Curry’s head and accidentally scratched his forehead.
The Melo M12 sneakers’ updates include two Zoom Air units that offer responsive cushioning and FlightSpeed technology for an explosive first step. The shoe marks Athony’s 12th signature shoe with Jordan since joining the league in 2003. Anthony will be on the Eastern Conference team at the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 14 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
